Will It Be Tomorrow

from The Way by The Advocates

/

about

The whole story behind this song is that it is sung from the point of view of an Aussie soldier who is fighting for his country in Iraq/Afghanistan and cant wait for the day he gets to come home and be with his family again.

From a lyrical point of view, we really wanted to paint a picture of a day in the life of a soldier and talk about the kinds of things he sees, hears and feels whilst fighting in a war zone. Most importantly, we bring reference to how much he longs to be at home with his family again, hence the chorus-"Will it be tomorrow, when love sees the day, will it be tomorrow, when freedom finds a way"

lyrics

He woke up this morning with a tear in his eye

He’s on the frontline of the soul’s demise

Signed a contract to be a freedom fighter

A million miles away from home

Sleeping with a gun and not his lover

She sits at home waiting for his call

They talk about the day that they met

Shells fire in the background

Just another day of the same old sounds

Will it be tomorrow

When love rules the day

Will it be tomorrow

When freedom finds a way

Will it be tomorrow

Like desert sand stretches on and on

Still no solution to the stone age song

Staring at a face he’s never seen

Just another part of the war machine

Show us the way to stop this bloody war

Too many times we’ve seen it all before

Devils use angels all over the board

Tell me why he cant see

Mr. President when will it be

Will it be tomorrow

When love rules the day

Will it be tomorrow

When freedom finds a way

Will it be tomorrow

No more war we’re going home

No more war we’re going home

No more war we’re going home

No more war we’re going home
